In April, the Financial Inclusion Forum (FIF) had the privilege of hosting, together with Citi Social Finance, a vibrant and insightful Student Roundtable. The event brought together talented and passionate students from the School of Finance and Management of SOAS University of London to discuss and brainstorm on critical topics related to financial inclusion. The objective was clear: to inspire and empower the next generation of practitioners of the financial sector.
Roundtable Overview
The roundtable was part of FIF’s 2024 strategy, aimed at engaging students who showcased exceptional skills during the internship screening process. These students, though not selected for the internships, were invited to contribute their creativity and ideas towards organizing a student-centric event focused on financial inclusion.
Held at Citibank’s corporate roundtable room, the event began with a networking session where participants shared their experiences and what financial inclusion meant to them. The icebreaker “What does financial inclusion mean to you?” set the stage for a series of dynamic discussions that spanned a wide array of topics:
These topics were further examined by the students in individual presentations. They shared their insights on specific concepts within Financial Inclusion, explaining why they are passionate about these ideas and how they could engage audiences in a future student-led event.
