LONDON – Financial Inclusion Forum Ltd (known as FIF) announced the appointment of Edward Fraser as its new Executive Director, effective 13 January 2025. This follows Antonella Abategiovanni’s decision to step down to take on a new role in Kenya.
Rishi Raithatha and Åse Bergstedt, FIF Co-Chairs, said: “We are delighted to welcome Edward Fraser to FIF as its new Executive Director. We were impressed with Edward’s knowledge and experience of topical issues in financial and digital inclusion. His existing relationships with several partner organisations allows FIF to seamlessly continue its ongoing engagements. Following a full programme of events in 2024, we have no doubt that Edward will be able to lead FIF to further success in 2025 and beyond. The FIF Board is very pleased to have him as our new Executive Director.”
“I am honoured to join the Financial Inclusion Forum at such a pivotal time,” said Edward Fraser. “Financial inclusion is a cornerstone of economic empowerment, and I am excited to work with this incredible team to drive innovation and collaboration that make a meaningful impact. Together, we will strengthen the Forum’s role as a catalyst for change, ensuring financial systems are accessible and equitable for all”.
Fraser brings over 15 years of extensive experience in financial inclusion, economic recovery and market systems development within humanitarian and development sectors. His career is marked by several leadership roles, including Global Economic Recovery Adviser and Cash & Voucher Assistance Lead at the Danish Refugee Council.
