FIF was established in 2005 as the UK Microfinance Club, as part of the UK’s leading role in the UN’s Year of Microcredit (in 2005). We adopted our current name in 2015.

FIF is a London-based, not-for-profit organisation that organises free, live events for people in the financial inclusion space to develop their knowledge and engagement in financial inclusion. Expert speakers are invited to share their thoughts on sustainable, innovative, scalable financial inclusion. The events serve as networking opportunities for London- and UK-based financial inclusion practitioners.

How We Do It

FIF promotes knowledge sharing, debate and networking through a programme that focuses on the recent developments in global financial inclusion. We hold several evening events in London on themes such as digital finance and fintech, consumer protection, smallholder agriculture, gender issues, microinsurance, renewable energy and livelihood development. Our live events feature influential voices that encourage our audience to learn, exchange, network and act.

Governance And Annual Reports

The Financial Inclusion Forum is registered as a Private company limited by guarantee without share capital in England and Wales (Company number 07476278). It is led by an Executive Director with support from the Board of Directors, who are volunteers elected for three-year terms. The Directors elect a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer to support the functioning of the Forum. The Directors meet quarterly to review progress and plan activities. The annual Accounts and Directors’ elections are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Act. The Accounts, and Memorandum, and Articles of Association are available on request.
